Courchevel

Skiing Courchevel

Tucked at one end of the vast Three Valleys, Courchevel is one of the world’s most iconic ski destinations—and for good reason. Made up of five distinct villages—Courchevel 1850, Courchevel Moriond (1650), Courchevel Village (1550), Le Praz (1300) and La Tania—this unique valley blends alpine charm with high-end flair, all seamlessly connected by a high-speed lift system and a vast network of pistes.

The pistes

The piste grooming here is second to none, with wide, rolling runs ideal for confident carvers. Intermediates are spoilt for choice, while experts will want to tackle the infamous Grand Couloir at the top of Saulire, or head off-piste for some of the best freeride terrain in the area.

Courchevel is also a great place for building confidence, with excellent nursery slopes and a strong choice of ski schools—ideal for families and first-timers.

Where to eat?

The mountain restaurants in Courchevel are a serious highlight – good enough that you might start planning your ski day around lunch. An F&P favourite is a hot chocolate stop at the Bel Air restaurant followed by lunch at the Cave de Creux. Check out our restaurant guide for more delicious places to stop for lunch.

A Touch of Glamour

Of course, Courchevel isn’t just about skiing. This is one of the Alps’ most glamorous resorts – home to designer boutiques, five-star hotels, and more than a few fur coats. It’s a brilliant spot for people-watching and soaking up the high-end atmosphere, even if your own après involves hot chocolate over champagne.
