Skiing Méribel
At the very heart of the Three Valleys, Méribel is everything we love about skiing in the Alps—soulful, scenic, and brilliantly connected. Nestled between the high peaks of Val Thorens and the sun-soaked bowls of Courchevel, it’s perfectly placed to explore the largest ski area in the world. And we should know—this is our home in the mountains.
Why Ski Méribel?
Quite simply, it’s the best base for discovering the full 600km of the Trois Vallées. From Méribel Centre, Mottaret and Méribel Village, fast, modern lifts whisk you up and out in all directions with minimal queues and maximum efficiency. Whether you’re planning to ski every corner of the ski area or just cruise around the local runs, Méribel makes it easy.
There’s something here for everyone—new skiers, seasoned pros, young families, and non-skiers too. And with our hand-picked chalets offering unbeatable slope access, staying in Méribel means your day starts and ends right on the snow.
The Skiing
Méribel is a real sweet spot for all ability levels. Beginners have wide, gentle greens and easy blues to grow their confidence. Intermediates can roam endlessly on long reds with stunning views, while more advanced skiers can tackle the blacks off Mont Vallon—with its 800m of vertical drop—and explore off-piste couloirs with a guide.
It’s also home to some of our favourite tree skiing in the whole of the Three Valleys, ideal for snowy days and soft powder turns.
Family-Friendly Fun
Méribel is fantastic for families. Kids adore the magical Piste des Inuits and Yeti Park in Mottaret—fun zones with friendly characters and interactive features. It’s a great place to learn and play, while the grown-ups sneak in a few extra laps or a long lunch.
Off the slopes, the Olympic Centre in town keeps everyone entertained with an ice rink, swimming pool, climbing wall, gym, and even bowling.
Restaurants We Love
There are too many favourites to name here—but we’ve shared our go-to spots in our restaurant guide. From hearty Savoyard lunches in the sunshine to cosy dinners back in resort, Méribel more than holds its own on the mountain dining front.
Après with a View
It’s hard to ski home without being drawn into the terrace at La Folie Douce, and we wouldn’t recommend trying. It’s a party like no other, and the views aren’t bad either. A little further down, Le Rond Point is a Méribel institution—great live music, ski boots dancing, and one of the best sunset spots in the Alps.
Over in Méribel Village, Lodge du Village is our go-to for live music and relaxed après—always buzzing, never pretentious.
This Is Home
Méribel is where F&P began, and where our full time team live year-round. We know every piste, path and pastry stop. Our chalets are right where they should be – close to the lifts, the action, and the alpine charm that makes Méribel so special. We love it here, and we’re sure you will too.
